UCASAL launches music therapy project in Salta

The Universidad Católica de Salta (UCASAL) has launched the extension project ‘Música para Sanar’ (Music to Heal), aimed at using music as a tool for health, emotional well-being, and community connection.

To date, the initiative has visited two institutions in Salta: HIRPACE, a center for the rehabilitation and integration of children and youth with cerebral palsy, and the Hospital Público Papa Francisco. The project seeks to transform waiting rooms and clinical environments into spaces of calm and encounter for patients, families, and healthcare staff.

Project director Efraín Escalante noted that the initiative allows students to apply their artistic training to social realities and serve the community. The program also fosters collaboration among students, providing them with ethical and social perspectives through their musical practice.
