Ucayali hosts Amazonian entrepreneurship and aquaculture summits
The XV edition of Expo Amazónica 2026 concluded in Pucallpa, Ucayali, highlighting the strategic role of Amazonian aquaculture in national economic development. The Ministry of Production (PRODUCE) emphasized the importance of connecting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with national and international markets through technical assistance, innovation, and financing.
During the event, several local businesses showcased value-added products derived from emblematic species such as paiche and paco, including innovations like 'paconossi'. These efforts align with the National Aquaculture Policy to 2030, aiming to reduce reliance on fresh product sales by promoting processed goods.
Simultaneously, the VII Congress of Amazonian Entrepreneurs (CEA 2026) concluded with the signing of the Declaration of Ucayali. Led by Regional Governor Manuel Gambini Rupay, the declaration establishes eleven commitments designed to strengthen competitiveness, promote sustainable investment, and drive productive development across the Peruvian Amazon through collaboration between the state, the private sector, and civil society.
