UCDB law students study environmental policies in Bonito

Law students from the Universidade Católica Dom Bosco (UCDB) conducted a technical visit to Bonito to study local environmental public policies and solid waste management practices.

Guided by Professor Maira Portugal and the Municipal Secretariat of the Environment (SEMA), the group visited the Bonito City Council to observe the legislative role in creating and monitoring public policies. The itinerary included the Waste Sorting Unit (UTR) to observe recycling processes and the Transshipment Unit to learn about waste management and final disposal procedures.

The visit also featured the Municipal Nursery, where students observed composting processes and seedling production carried out in partnership with Ciclo Azul Sustentabilidade. These activities aim to reduce waste volume and support urban reforestation and environmental recovery.
