Uceva Legal Clinic wins national award in Colombia

The Legal Clinic of the Unidad Central del Valle del Cauca (Uceva) has been named the best legal clinic in Colombia with a differential approach. The distinction was awarded at the XV Excellence in Justice Awards held in Bogotá.

The institution was recognized for its model of combining legal advice, social support, and civic training to assist vulnerable populations. Between February 2025 and February 2026, the clinic provided 5,200 legal consultations and managed 906 judicial processes, covering all 42 municipalities in Valle del Cauca.

Key demographics served include victims of armed conflict, indigenous communities, persons with disabilities, migrants, women, farmers, and older adults. Notable initiatives include a legal-pedagogical route for victims of armed conflict and school mediation strategies that have benefited approximately 910 students and teachers.
