UCF defeats Bethune-Cookman 73-6 in record-setting victory

UCF secured a record-setting 73-6 victory over Bethune-Cookman in their season opener in Orlando. The 73 points tied a program record first established in 2017, while the 67-point margin of victory set a new school standard.

Quarterback Alonza Barnett III contributed 158 passing yards and a touchdown, along with a 5-yard rushing score. Duke Watson led the ground attack with 110 rushing yards and a touchdown, including a 64-yard run. Landen Chambers also added two rushing touchdowns to the effort.

Bethune-Cookman was significantly outgained 560-181. Their only score came on the final play of the game, an 8-yard touchdown pass from Tyler Jefferson to Kobe Stewart.
