UCF prepares for 2026 season opener against Bethune-Cookman

UCF is set to open its 2026 football season this Thursday at 7 p.m. against Bethune-Cookman University at the Acrisure Bounce House. The matchup marks the 20th season for the stadium and comes during the second season of head coach Scott Frost’s second tenure with the program.

Following a 5-7 campaign in 2025, Frost has reshaped the roster with 58 new players. The Knights are looking to establish greater relevance within the Big 12 conference, where they have struggled to secure a winning record since joining three seasons ago. Quarterback Alonza Barnett III is expected to be a central figure in the team’s push for competitiveness.

In addition to the season opener, UCF Athletics has introduced several stadium enhancements for the 2026 season under the ‘Better Bounce House’ vision. Improvements include an expanded Roth Tower, 360-degree concourse access, enhanced lighting, and upgraded cabana spaces. The athletic department has also expanded food and beverage options, including new concession locations and themed ‘Dogs of the Game’ series.
