UCF women’s soccer defeats South Florida 2-0
UCF women’s soccer defeated rival South Florida 2-0 in the War on I-4 matchup at Corbett Stadium on Sunday evening. The victory moves UCF to a 3-0-0 season record, while South Florida drops to 0-3-0.
Both goals were scored in the first half. Tyra Eriksen opened the scoring in the 23rd minute after capitalizing on a deflected ball from a USF defender. Naomi Clark doubled the lead in the 28th minute, finishing a sequence assisted by Eriksen and Ainsley Moy.
UCF dominated the offensive statistics, outshooting South Florida 17-3. USF goalkeeper Gaby Rourke recorded five saves during the contest. Despite second-half efforts from South Florida, including chances by Yui Suetsugu, the Knights maintained the shutout.
