Uche Nwosu Receives East Orange Leadership Award, Announces US‑Nigeria Development Partnership

Former Imo governorship candidate Uche Nwosu, who previously served as chief of staff to former Imo Governor Rochas Okorocha, was presented the City of East Orange’s Award for Outstanding Leadership and Human Capacity Development in New Jersey, United States. The award was handed to him by Mayor Ted Green during a ceremony that also inaugurated a strategic partnership between the city and Nwosu’s Ugwumba Centre for Leadership Development in Africa.

The partnership aims to promote leadership development, human‑capacity building and sustainable development initiatives that will benefit communities in both Nigeria and the United States. The centre reports having empowered more than 10,000 youths and 5,000 women through skills training, mentorship and seed‑capital support, and pledged to expand similar collaborations across Africa.
