UCLA Bruins Begin 2026 Preseason Under New Coach Bob Chesney

UCLA football opened its 2026 preseason camp on Thursday, marking the first practice session for the program under new head coach Bob Chesney. Chesney emphasized continuity, noting that most of the roster had spent the winter, spring and summer together, allowing the team to build on months of accumulated work. The Bruins entered camp with several roster upgrades, most notably running back Wayne Knight, a former Second‑Team All‑American from James Madison, and a revamped offensive line that includes former James Madison starters such as Riley Robell, Carter Sweazie, Jordan Davis and Hall Schmidt.
