UCLA Coach Bob Chesney named to Paul “Bear” Bryant Award watch list

UCLA head football coach Bob Chesney has been named to the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year Award watch list. He is one of 28 coaches recognized by the American Heart Association for the honor, which is awarded annually to a college football coach who demonstrates integrity, grit, and a winning approach both on and off the field.

In his first season with the Bruins, Chesney has led the team to a 6-0 record, making UCLA the only unbeaten program remaining in the Big Ten Conference. Under his leadership, the team has risen to No. 9 in the Associated Press poll, marking the program's highest ranking since late 2022. The Bruins currently rank highly in several statistical categories, including takeaways, turnover margin, and fourth-quarter scoring.
