UCLA football maintains top-10 ranking amid transfer success

UCLA Bruins Bob Chesney college football Wayne Knight Ty Dieffenbach

The UCLA Bruins football team has reached a top-10 ranking during the 2026 season under head coach Bob Chesney. The team's success has been heavily driven by several key player transfers.

Quarterback Ty Dieffenbach, a transfer from Cal Poly, has taken over the starting role following a season-ending injury to Nico Iamaleava. Running back Wayne Knight, formerly of JMU, has become a central part of the offense, currently on pace for a 1,000-yard season with 12 touchdowns.

As the Bruins prepare for their final nonconference game against Nevada, coach Chesney is expected to rely on the team's rushing attack. Despite recent injuries to offensive linemen Jordan Davis and Eugene Brooks, the UCLA offensive line is currently ranked fifth in the country by Pro Football Network.
