UCLA Bruins defeat Wisconsin 17-7 to remain undefeated
No. 12 UCLA defeated the Wisconsin Badgers 17-7 at the Rose Bowl, improving their record to 6-0 and maintaining their undefeated status in the Big Ten. The victory marks the first time the Bruins have reached 6-0 since 2022.
Backup quarterback Ty Dieffenbach took over the starting role following an injury to Nico Iamaleava. Dieffenbach completed 22 of 33 passes for 264 yards in his first career start. While the Bruins' run game struggled against Wisconsin's defense, scoring came via touchdown runs from Wayne Knight and Anthony Woods.
Wisconsin (4-2) struggled with discipline, committing 10 penalties for 102 yards. Badgers quarterback Colton Joseph contributed 71 rushing yards and a touchdown, but the team was held to only 66 passing yards. UCLA head coach Bob Chesney praised Dieffenbach’s confidence and the defensive effort in limiting Wisconsin's aerial attack.
