UConn and Syracuse basketball face off in preseason exhibition

The UConn men’s basketball team will begin its 2026-27 preseason on Tuesday, Oct. 13, facing Syracuse in a Hall of Fame Exhibition at Mohegan Sun Arena. The matchup features a renewed rivalry between the two programs, which were long-time BIG EAST charter members.

UConn enters the preseason following a 34-6 season that concluded as the national runner-up at the Final Four. Under head coach Dan Hurley, the Huskies have reached six consecutive NCAA Tournaments. The roster features returning players such as BIG EAST Preseason Player of the Year Silas Demary Jr. and Braylon Mullins.

Syracuse women’s basketball is also scheduled to compete against the UConn Huskies at Mohegan Sun Arena. The Orange are looking to establish new lineups following the loss of key players, with attention focused on how coach Felisha Legette-Jack utilizes newcomers and interior players like Uche Izoje.
