UConn defeats Purdue 76-53 in exhibition game
The No. 4 ranked UConn Huskies concluded their preseason exhibition season with a 76-53 victory over the Purdue Boilermakers in Hartford.
Purdue struggled significantly with shooting accuracy, connecting on only 38.7% of field goal attempts and making just 2 of 25 attempts from behind the three-point line. CJ Cox led the Boilermakers with 18 points, serving as the only player to reach double figures.
UConn's perimeter defense and athleticism were key factors in the win, as the Huskies controlled the transition game and rebounding. Purdue's inability to penetrate the paint or find success from long range highlighted potential offensive challenges for the team heading into the regular season.
