UConn women's basketball defeats Texas in exhibition game

The UConn women’s basketball team defeated the Texas Longhorns 83-61 in an exhibition game held at PeoplesBank Arena. While the game was tied at halftime, UConn pulled away in the second half, outscoring Texas 27-16 in the final period.

Madison Booker led Texas with 23 points on 11-of-17 shooting, supported by Breya Cunningham’s 11 points. Despite Texas forcing 17 turnovers and scoring 21 points off them, UConn’s second-half surge secured the victory.

Earlier in the week, UConn also secured an 88-60 win against Syracuse at Mohegan Sun Arena. Although that game was a blowout, UConn coach Geno Auriemma expressed concerns regarding the team's transition defense and poor three-point shooting, as the Huskies went 3-for-23 from behind the arc.
