UCR Buenos Aires honors Sergio Karakachoff's legacy

The Buenos Aires branch of the Unión Cívica Radical (UCR) held a ceremony to honor the memory of Sergio Karakachoff, marking 50 years since his kidnapping and murder. During the event at the Provincial Committee headquarters, leadership presented a special distinction to Karakachoff’s family to recognize his political trajectory and commitment to human rights.

Emiliano Balbín, president of the Provincial Committee, highlighted Karakachoff’s role as a lawyer who defended political prisoners and workers during Argentina’s darkest years, noting that his legacy of social justice and democratic commitment remains relevant.

Additionally, the UCR announced the formation of the Forum of Radical Councilors in the province of Buenos Aires, an initiative aimed at coordinating a common legislative agenda and strengthening the party’s influence in the region.
