UCSC launches wetland water quality study and green hydrogen training

Environmental Chemistry students from the Universidad Católica de la Santísima Concepción (UCSC) will conduct a physicochemical diagnosis of the Rayencura Wetland in Talcamávida, Biobío Region. Using the ‘Learning + Service’ methodology, students will collaborate with the Biobío Wetlands Network to analyze water quality parameters including temperature, pH, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, electrical conductivity, and salinity to support aquatic life conservation.

Separately, the UCSC has certified 40 individuals through the ‘H2V for the Sustainable Development of Biobío’ training program. Funded by Corfo Biobío, this initiative focuses on the green hydrogen value chain, covering production technologies, renewable energy, and business development. The program included 15 women, aiming to address gender gaps in STEM fields.
