UD Trucks expands into Zambia through Imperial Motors partnership

UD Trucks has officially entered the Zambian market through a strategic partnership with Imperial Motors Zambia, a member of Motus Africa. The expansion establishes a presence in three key locations: Lusaka, Kitwe, and Solwezi.

The launch event, held on October 1, 2026, in Lusaka was attended by over 90 guests, including industry representatives and Fredrick Mwalusaka, the Permanent Secretary at Zambia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics. The new network aims to support industries such as mining, agriculture, construction, and freight transport by providing vehicle sales, servicing, repairs, and genuine parts.

In Lusaka and Kitwe, the dealerships will offer full sales and maintenance services, while the Solwezi site will focus on servicing and repairs. This move follows the brand's 2025 introduction to Malawi and is part of a broader regional strategy to strengthen UD Trucks' footprint across Southern Africa.
