Udaipur police seize 1,323 kg of illegal drugs worth 1.98 crore rupees

In Udaipur, district police seized 1,323.74 kilograms of illegal poppy husk (doda chura) during a special anti-drug operation in the Saira police station area. The seized narcotics have an estimated market value of approximately 1.98 crore rupees. During the raid, police intercepted a white Toyota Etios and a white Bolero pickup used for smuggling. The suspects fled into a hilly, forested area to evade capture, but police recovered 66 bags of the substance along with mobile phones, Aadhaar cards, and fake number plates.

In separate criminal incidents in Meerut, cybercriminals utilized ‘digital arrest’ tactics and WhatsApp hacking to defraud victims. One farmer was held under a simulated digital arrest by individuals posing as NIA officials, who claimed he had links to terrorists. Under threat of arrest, the victim transferred 30.80 lakh rupees to the scammers.

In another case involving Gangotri Paper Mills, hackers gained access to an account operator's mobile device via a malicious APK file sent through WhatsApp. The attackers impersonated a company shareholder to direct an accountant to transfer 1.80 crore rupees to various accounts. Following legal intervention, cybercrime police successfully recovered approximately 1.56 crore rupees for the company.
