Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena condemns centre over MSME closures and delimitation bill

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Thackeray) leader Uddhav Thackeray has warned that more than 1.25 lakh micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) shut down across India between 2024 and 2026, citing rising operational costs, delayed payments and limited credit. Maharashtra recorded the highest number of closures at 28,764 units, followed by Tamil Nadu and Gujarat. The party’s editorial in Saamana described the trend as “a sob story of industries – closing the old and starting the new – unfolding for the last 12 years.”

At a separate event, Thackerley attacked the central government over the Delimitation Bill, asserting that the legislation seeks to alter the Constitution and that political parties are being “engineered to split” to push it through. He accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the BJP of manipulating the process and warned of broader democratic damage.
