Uddhav Thackeray's Shiv Sena launches Ram Raksha protest demanding dissolution of Ayodhya Ram Temple trust

Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray inaugurated the "Ram Raksha Andolan" in Mumbai, accusing the Modi-led government of misappropriating donations made to the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The rally, held at the Hanuman Temple in Dadar, called for the dissolution of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra trust and punishment of those alleged to have stolen gold and other offerings.

Party spokesperson Anand Dubey and MP Sanjay Raut warned that the embezzlement involved BJP members and demanded that the trust be disbanded. Police have obtained court permission to interrogate five of eight accused individuals currently jailed in connection with the donation theft case. The movement aims to expand across Maharashtra and later nationwide, positioning the Uddhav‑led Shiv Sena as a challenger to the BJP on Hindutva credentials.
