TTV Dhinakaran seeks Governor's intervention over alleged MLA horse-trading

TTV Dhinakaran, General Secretary of the Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK), met with Tamil Nadu Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar to submit a memorandum regarding alleged political horse-trading in the state.

Dhinakaran accused the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) of attempting to lure and purchase legislators through financial incentives and political positions, an act he claims undermines the democratic mandate. He specifically called for an inquiry into the alleged poaching of MLAs and sought the disqualification of Mannargudi MLA S Kamaraj, who was expelled from AMMK for supporting the TVK.

AIADMK spokesperson Kovai Sathyan also joined the allegations, describing the government's actions as “scientific horse-trading” intended to stabilize its numerical position in the Assembly. Dhinakaran expressed frustration over the lack of police action regarding his previous complaints, noting that nearly 100 days have passed without an investigation into the alleged defections and the use of a “fake letter” to influence political allegiances.
