Udhayanidhi Stalin pledges support for Tamil Nadu farmers

A delegation of agricultural association representatives, led by Deivasigamani of the Joint Movement of Tamil Nadu Agricultural Associations, met with Tamil Nadu Assembly Leader of the Opposition Udhayanidhi Stalin in Chennai. The representatives expressed gratitude for Stalin's recent advocacy and protests in Thanjavur regarding agricultural issues.

The delegation urged continued support for several key demands, including the formal declaration of the Delta region as a drought-affected area and a complete waiver of crop loans for farmers. They also discussed concerns regarding the Kaveri water issue and the Megadatu dam.

During the meeting, the representatives expressed distress over the previous arrest of Udhayanidhi Stalin by police while he was advocating for farmers' rights. Stalin assured the group that he would continue to raise their concerns in the Legislative Assembly and through public forums to support the farming community.
