Udine launches 1 million euro redevelopment of via Laipacco sports area

The Municipality of Udine has officially launched a redevelopment project for the sports area in via Laipacco. With an investment exceeding 1 million euros, the works are scheduled to begin this Monday and are expected to be completed by June 2027.

The project aims to transform the area adjacent to the existing gymnasium into a neighborhood park. Key improvements include the revitalization of the basketball court, the creation of new green spaces, and enhanced public areas for community use. To improve accessibility and mobility, the plan includes a reorganization of internal traffic, the installation of 65 parking spaces (including four reserved for people with disabilities), new drainage paving, and safer pedestrian and cycling paths.

This initiative is the first of three major neighborhood projects planned by the local administration. Other upcoming works include the extension of the sidewalk along via Laipacco, a new neighborhood house in Aurora, and a dedicated space for associations in Paderno.
