Udine Local Police celebrate 160 years and announce new recruitment

The Udine Local Police celebrated the 160th anniversary of its foundation with an official ceremony at the Loggia del Lionello. During the event, 23 commendations were awarded to officers for various significant operations, including drug seizures, medical assistance, and investigations into illegal waste disposal.

Five solemn commendations were presented to Nicola Pasquili, Enrico Bolzicco, Giovanni Ferigo, Andrea Michelini, and Rita Pannullo for an anti-drug operation involving the seizure of cannabis and cocaine. Other awards included simple commendations for life-saving assistance and investigations into hazardous waste, as well as praises for recovering stolen vehicles and identifying counterfeit documents.

In addition to the celebrations, local officials addressed staffing shortages within the force. Councilor Rosi Toffano announced upcoming recruitment calls to strengthen the personnel numbers and maintain oversight in high-activity areas such as Borgo Stazione and Viale Ungheria.
