Udine to host 11th Arengo Contemporaneo civic assembly

The 11th edition of the Arengo Contemporaneo del Popolo Udinese is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, in Udine, Italy. This civic assembly allows local citizens registered on the electoral lists to propose, discuss, and vote on initiatives in the interest of the city.

The event will be held at the Salone d’Onore in Palazzo di Toppo Wassermann. The assembly follows a historical tradition of direct civic participation dating back to 1340, which was revived in 2015 by the Fogolâr Civic. The program includes a ceremonial opening with the icon of Patriarch Bertrando, a report from the 2025 assembly magistracy, the renewal of elective offices, and the voting of civic proposals.

Participation is open to local citizens, though those holding elected or politically appointed institutional offices are excluded. Access will be organized in time slots, with specific windows for registered citizens to submit proposals before the general assembly opens to the public.
