Udine to host 26th International Half Marathon and health conference
The 26th International Udine City Half Marathon is scheduled for September 19–20, 2026, featuring various athletic and scientific events. Italian Health Minister Orazio Schillaci is set to participate in a scientific conference titled ‘Physical activity and health: it is time to move,’ organized by the Italian Federation of Health Companies and Hospitals (FIASO). The conference marks the debut of the FIASO RUN, a national championship for healthcare workers.
The weekend's program includes the Salita del Castello hill climb on Friday, the MiniRun and a dog race on Saturday, and the main half marathon on Sunday. Due to these events, significant traffic restrictions and road closures will be implemented in Udine. On Saturday, transit will be prohibited in the historic center between 12:00 and 19:00. On Sunday, the 21.097 km race will cause closures from approximately 09:20 to 12:15 along the race route, which begins at Viale della Vittoria.
