Regional Governor Massimiliano Fedriga noted the tournament's economic impact, stating that over 50% of spectators arrived from outside the region, contributing to local tourism, hospitality, and commerce.

In match action, Udinese defeated Nottingham Forest 1-0 thanks to a goal by Solet, with Nicolò Zaniolo receiving praise for his performance. In the second match, FC Barcelona defeated Udinese 1-0 with a late goal from Ivorian striker Bayo. Barcelona utilized several youth players from their La Masia academy during the fixture.
