UDMR rejects government support for extremist parties

Vice Premier Tanczos Barna has announced that the UDMR will not support any government that requires backing from extremist parties such as AUR or SOS România. Speaking at Parliament, Barna expressed support for the nomination of Siegfried Mureșan for the position of Prime Minister.

Barna emphasized the need for a stable political solution that can ensure governance through 2028. He suggested that reforming the majority that dissolved in April, potentially through a political rotation, remains the best path forward. The UDMR, alongside PNL and USR, aims to stabilize the political situation through upcoming negotiations, specifically with the Social Democratic Party.
