Udo Lindenberg's former partner Maria Bachmann rises to acting fame

In the early 1980s the 20‑year‑old nurse Maria Bachmann met the 38‑year‑old Hamburg rock star Udo Lindenberg, who was already a household name. The two dated for seven years, a period Bachmann later described in a 2019 Bild interview: "Als ich als kleine Krankenschwester … war das, was ich bei ihm auf der Bühne gesehen habe, erst mal skandalös. Udo hat mich aufgerüttelt."

After their separation Bachmann published a memoir in 1992 titled *Panikrocker küsst man nicht*. A year later she achieved her breakthrough as an actress, first appearing in a Calgonit commercial with the slogan "Dann klappt's auch mit dem Nachbarn". She subsequently secured roles in German TV series such as *Die Viersteins*, *Tatort* and *Der Alte*. Now 62, Bachmann is an established actress in the German entertainment industry.
