Udon Thani Horticultural Expo hosts Buddhist consecration ceremonies
Religious ceremonies were held to consecrate Buddha statues at the site of the upcoming Udon Thani International Horticultural Expo in Thailand. The ceremonies aimed to bring auspiciousness to the venue and integrate Buddhist values with the natural landscape.
Somdet Phra Maha Thirachan, Abbot of Wat Pho, presided over the installation and eye-opening ceremony of the ‘Phra Sri Ariya Metrai Phuttha Phat Borommasuk’ statue. Luang Pu Sila Sirichanto also participated in the ritual and offered prayers. Additionally, a second ceremony was conducted to consecrate a Buddha statue within the Buddha History Wood Garden to enhance the spiritual atmosphere of the expo grounds.
The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Cooperatives Wacharaphol Khaokham and Permanent Secretary Rapeepat Chantarasriwong. The integration of Buddhist art and history with the botanical gardens is intended to provide visitors with a peaceful environment for learning about the relationship between nature and Buddhist history.
