Udta Teer earns ₹4.10 crore on opening day
The spy-comedy Udta Teer, starring Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan, had a modest opening at the Indian box office, collecting approximately ₹4.10 crore net on its first day. The film, which released on October 23, 2026, grossed around ₹4.83 crore across 6,265 shows.
Directed by Aakash Kaushik in his directorial debut, the plot follows a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and mistakenly believes he is an Indian counter-terrorism officer. The film is a collaboration between Dharma Productions and Sikhya Entertainment, produced by Karan Johar, Adar Poonawalla, Apoorva Mehta, Guneet Monga Kapoor, and Achin Jain.
While the opening was considered slow compared to Khurrana’s previous hits, the film saw a significant 50 percent increase on its second day, earning ₹6.90 crore net. This growth has pushed the two-day total to ₹11 crore, leading analysts to project a weekend collection of around ₹20 crore. Critical reception has been mixed, with some praising the comedic timing and others noting inconsistent tonal shifts between comedy and patriotism.
