Udupi hosts teacher awards and Onam cultural celebrations

Udupi recently hosted two significant community events. The Udupi District Level Ideal Teacher Awards were presented in collaboration with the Adarsha Charitable Trust and the District School Education Department to honor 40 teachers across various educational sectors, including government, aided, and CBSE schools.

During the ceremony, former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake and MP Kota Srinivas Poojary emphasized the vital role teachers play in student success and the district's academic achievements. Dr. G. S. Chandrashekhar also addressed the importance of healthy lifestyles in response to rising rates of diabetes and heart disease.

Additionally, the Kerala Samajam Udupi organized its second annual Onam celebration at Ambagilu Amrith Garden. The cultural festival featured traditional Kerala dance forms such as Thiruvathira and Mohiniyattam, music performances by child singer Rania Rafique, and various traditional games. The event, inaugurated by actress Nina Kurup, served to showcase Kerala's cultural heritage, including its music, dance, and cuisine, to the local coastal community.
