Udupi protesters condemn actions against Constitution
During a protest held at the Ajjarakadu Martyrs' Memorial in Udupi, senior thinker Prof. Phaniraj criticized recent actions in Uttarakhand, specifically the purification of a site where Rajya Sabha Leader of Opposition Mallikarjun Kharge delivered a speech, labeling it an act against the Constitution.
Prof. Phaniraj argued that such actions represent a Hindutva agenda aimed at undermining the democratic foundations and equality established by the Constitution. He suggested that these movements seek to re-establish Brahminical authority by eroding fundamental rights.
Additionally, Dasansa state organizational secretary Sundar Master addressed concerns regarding reservation, alleging that certain groups are being pitted against Dalits to oppose reservation policies. He noted that Dalits currently receive only 8 percent of reservations and questioned why the 10 percent reservation for poor members of upper castes is not being discussed.
