UEDCL invests Shs240m in Butebo power infrastructure
The Uganda Electricity Distribution Company Limited (UEDCL) has invested over Shs240 million in electricity infrastructure projects in the Butebo District to enhance power reliability and support economic growth.
One project involved extending the electricity distribution network to Petete, connecting Petete Primary School, Petete Church, local households, and the Petete Town Council offices to the national grid.
A second project focused on Kabarekere Village, where UEDCL installed a 100kVA transformer to support a developing mini-industrial park. This new installation replaces an inadequate 25kVA single-phase transformer to meet the projected 48kW demand for local industrial and agro-processing activities.
Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja officiated the commissioning ceremony in Petete.
