UEFA announces extended commercial cycle and increased revenues

UEFA and the European Club Association (EFC) have announced a new commercial cycle for European football competitions. Starting from the next season, the commercial cycle will extend to four years, lasting until 2031, rather than the previous three-year model.

This extension is expected to increase annual revenues from UEFA competitions to an average of 5.1 billion euros between 2027 and 2031, up from 4.4 billion euros in the 2024–2027 cycle. The growth is driven by a 20 percent increase in the value of new contracts across major European markets, including France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and the United Kingdom.

The total prize pool for the Champions League is projected to rise by approximately 15 percent, reaching 2.8 billion euros. From the 5.1 billion euros in gross revenue, 500 million euros will be allocated to solidarity support for teams not participating in European cups, as well as for youth and women's competitions.
