UEFA Nations League 2026/27 features compressed match schedule

The 2026/27 UEFA Nations League will feature a compressed schedule for its opening phase. Between September 24 and October 6, 2026, most teams will compete in four matches within a 13-day window, placing significant emphasis on squad depth and player rotation.

In League A, Group A1 includes France, Italy, Belgium, and Türkiye, while Group A2 consists of Germany, the Netherlands, Serbia, and Greece. Group A3 features Spain, Croatia, England, and Czechia, and Group A4 contains Portugal, Denmark, Norway, and Wales. Group winners and runners-up will advance to two-legged quarter-finals, while third-placed teams face promotion/relegation play-offs.

In League D, Malta is drawn in Group D1 alongside Andorra and Gibraltar. Malta’s campaign begins away to Andorra on September 24, followed by home matches against Gibraltar on October 1 and Andorra on October 4. The team aims to finish first in the group to secure automatic promotion to League C, avoiding the play-offs that saw them defeated by Luxembourg in the previous campaign.
