UEFA Referee Chief Rosetti supports Greek referees at Athens VAR launch

UEFA Refereeing Committee chairman Roberto Rosetti addressed journalists during a VAR presentation event in Athens. He expressed unequivocal support for Stefano Lanuà and praised the work of Greek referees, noting the need for media backing and hard work to reach elite European levels.

Rosetti highlighted individual Greek officials – Vasilis Fotias, Papapetros, Tsakalidis and Moschos – and mentioned plans for mentorship to aid their development. He also advocated for a more effective communication model, suggesting a monthly press meeting rather than weekly video analyses of controversial decisions.
