UEFA rejects Parc des Princes bid for Europa League finals

UEFA has rejected the French Football Federation’s bid to host the Europa League finals at the Parc des Princes. Despite support from the Île-de-France region and a letter from regional president Valérie Pécresse to UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin, the stadium will not host the upcoming major matches.

UEFA has instead selected Bucharest’s Arena Națională to host the 2028 final and Belgrade’s National Stadium for the 2029 edition. This decision ends hopes of returning a major European final to the Parisian venue, which last hosted a UEFA Cup final in 1998.
