FC Bayern München shifts power as Eberl loses Campus oversight

Internal power shifts are occurring at FC Bayern München following the contract extension of sports director Max Eberl through 2029. Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, a member of the supervisory board, revealed that he abstained from the vote regarding Eberl's extension. Rummenigge stated his decision was driven by a desire to remain independent and avoid being influenced by the recommendation of the Presidential Committee, which he felt had already pre-determined the outcome.

In addition to the voting controversy, Rummenigge confirmed a shift in responsibilities regarding the FC Bayern Campus. Max Eberl is reportedly being stripped of his oversight of the facility. Responsibility for the Campus will now transition to Christoph Freund and Jochen Sauer, a move intended to allow the youth academy to play an even larger role within the club.
