UEFA sets September 2 deadline for Champions League squad lists

UEFA has established September 2, 2026, as the deadline for clubs to submit their List A squads for the 2026/27 Champions League league phase. Submissions must be verified and validated by respective national associations by 23:59 CET on that date.

Clubs are permitted to register a maximum of 25 players on List A, which must include at least two goalkeepers. The regulations mandate that at least eight of these 25 spots be reserved for ‘locally trained players.’ Within those eight spots, no more than four can be ‘association-trained players.’

If a club possesses fewer than eight eligible locally trained players, their maximum List A squad size will be reduced accordingly. Additionally, clubs may register an unlimited number of players on List B, provided they meet specific eligibility requirements regarding age and tenure with the club. List B entries can be amended throughout the season and must be submitted by the day before the relevant match.
