UEFA Youth League: Zrinjski dominates while Mladost faces Kairat
Various clubs have commenced their campaigns in the UEFA Youth League qualifying rounds. In Montenegro, Omladinci Mladosti faces the Kazakhstani champions, Kairat, at the DG Arena. Mladost enters the match as an underdog, facing a Kairat side that invests approximately 3.5 million euros in its youth academy and features players with prior Champions League senior experience. Due to UEFA regulations, Mladost coach Goran Miranović noted the team will operate with a limited roster of only 15 players.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, Zrinjski secured a dominant 6-0 victory against Gibraltar's Lincoln Red Imps in their opening match. Antonio Arapović led the performance with four goals, while Ante Šunjić scored twice. This significant lead provides Zrinjski a substantial advantage heading into the return leg in Gibraltar. If they advance, they are scheduled to face Greece's PAOK in the next round.
