UEM Edgenta launches Young Entrepreneurship Programme

UEM Edgenta Berhad has announced the launch of its inaugural Young Entrepreneurship Programme (YEP), an initiative designed to identify, train, and mentor young entrepreneurs within the company’s vendor ecosystem. The program focuses on empowering young business owners to meet operational and compliance standards while ensuring long-term business viability.

The inaugural cohort includes six vendors selected from UEM Edgenta’s Infrastructure Solutions and Asset Management business ecosystems. These vendors were chosen through a multi-tiered screening process involving desktop audits, pre-assessments, and site visits benchmarked against the Malaysia Business Excellence Framework (MBEF).

To facilitate training, UEM Edgenta has partnered with Institut Keusahawanan Negara (INSKEN) and the Construction Industry Development Board (CIDB) Malaysia. INSKEN will provide instruction on leadership, strategic planning, and business model development. The initiative aligns with the aspirations of Rancangan Malaysia Ke-13 (RMK13) regarding youth empowerment, digital innovation, and technical and vocational education.
