ueno bank invests USD 120 million in Paraguayan financial technology

ueno bank has invested USD 120 million in technology over the last 18 months to drive financial transformation in Paraguay. The investment focuses on digital infrastructure, including cloud computing, security, biometrics, digital onboarding, QR payments, and self-service channels.

According to the bank, these resources support services such as mobile account opening, transfers, and credit access. The entity works with global technology providers including Amazon Web Services, Oracle, Salesforce, Genesys, Facetec, Validsoft, and Mastercard.

As of August 2026, ueno bank reports having more than 3 million customers, with 1.2 million of those opening their first bank account through the institution. The bank processes over 70 million transactions monthly, and one in three transfers in Paraguay is processed through its systems. President Juan Manuel Gustale stated that the goal is to provide more opportunities for entrepreneurs and to make banking more accessible and secure for Paraguayans.
