ueno bank receives BB credit rating reaffirmation from Fitch
Fitch Ratings has reaffirmed the long-term foreign and local currency credit rating of ueno bank at BB, with a viability rating of bb. The agency noted the bank's stable profitability, healthy asset quality, and its growing importance within the Paraguayan financial system, including its status as a systemically important bank.
However, Fitch revised the outlook from stable to negative. This change is driven by the bank's rapid balance sheet growth, which is placing pressure on adjusted capital levels and the weight of intangible assets. To return to a stable outlook, the agency indicated that the bank must execute plans to moderate growth and maintain its Fitch Core Capital indicator above 13%.
As of June 2026, ueno bank reported a delinquency rate of 0.6% and a provision coverage of 345.2%. The bank stated that its priority is to strengthen the capital supporting its expansion, aiming for capital growth to outpace the growth of its balance sheet.
