UERJ opens registration for 2027 second‑phase exam

The University of the State of Rio de Janeiro (UERJ) announced that applications for the second qualification exam of its 2027 vestibular close on Friday, 7 August. Candidates must pay a R$ 100 fee by 10 August, with provisions for fee exemption and specialized assistance, including the option for transgender applicants to use their social name. The written test is scheduled for 6 September, lasting four hours and beginning at 9 a.m.

To help applicants, especially those targeting highly competitive courses such as Medicine, Foco Ensino Personalizado has partnered with selection‑process specialist EconRio. The collaboration provides simulated exams that replicate UERJ’s format and correction procedures, giving students realistic practice for the essay‑based second phase. Director Jorge Apolinário emphasized that strong performance in the first phase does not guarantee admission, and that mastering the second‑phase essay is crucial for medical candidates.
