UFAP UNSa Justice reports declining working conditions in Réunion
The UFAP UNSa Justice union has issued a critical assessment of the 2022-2026 mandate during a Social Administration Committee meeting in Saint-Denis, Réunion. The union reports a significant degradation in working conditions for public employees due to rising workloads and insufficient human and budgetary resources.
Specifically, the Saint-Denis Penitentiary Center has surpassed a historic threshold of 1,000 detainees, leading to unprecedented occupancy levels and constant pressure on staff. Additionally, activities within the SPIP of La Réunion have increased by over 30%, while human resources have only grown by approximately 20%. The union also denounced the rationalization and pooling of administrative hubs within various ALIPs.
