UFC's Dana White critiques Ian Machado Garry's performance

UFC President Dana White commented on the promotion's return to Sacramento, noting the high quality of the crowd. During the event, White expressed support for the trend of utilizing retired fighters, such as Chris Leben and Frank Trigg, in officiating roles like judging and refereeing.

White also addressed the recent welterweight title fight at UFC 330 between Islam Makhachev and Ian Machado Garry. Following Garry's unanimous decision loss, White criticized the Irishman's lack of aggression in the final round. White argued that Garry wasted valuable time showing respect and friendliness toward Makhachev instead of pursuing a finish, stating, “You have five f***ing minutes. Every second of that round counts.”

This sentiment was echoed by Makhachev, who noted that while he respects his opponents, the fight is a “war” rather than a game. Meanwhile, Garry has credited a transition to a vegan diet with improving his immunity, recovery, and weight management, which he believes has been vital to his career progression.
