UFC eyes Rakhmonov vs. Morales and Makhachev vs. Prates for 2027

The UFC is reportedly considering several high-profile matchups for UFC 336, potentially scheduled for January 2027. One rumored co-main event features a clash between two undefeated welterweights, Shavkat Rakhmonov and Michael Morales. Both fighters hold identical 19-0 professional records. Rakhmonov has been sidelined since December 2024 due to recurring knee injuries, but recent reports suggest he has resumed training.

Additionally, discussions are underway regarding a welterweight title defense between reigning champion Islam Makhachev and top contender Carlos Prates. While not officially confirmed, various reports and social media interactions from fighters and industry figures suggest this matchup is being targeted for the January event.
