UFC Freedom 250 Plot to Attack White House Indicted

Federal prosecutors have indicted eight men for allegedly planning a drone and sniper attack on the UFC Freedom 250 event held on the White House South Lawn. The defendants, ranging in age from 19 to 21 and hailing from Ohio, West Virginia, Missouri, Nebraska, California, Washington and other states, face charges of conspiracy to provide material support to terrorists and conspiracy to commit murder on federal government territory.

The plot, which began in May, targeted the cage‑fighting show celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary and allegedly included high‑value targets such as the President, the Vice President, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other federal officials. Law‑enforcement agencies disrupted the scheme four days before the event. Two defendants, Tycen Proper of Danville, Ohio, and Chandler Scaggs of Chapmanville, West Virginia, pleaded not guilty in Columbus, Ohio, and a trial date was set for Sept. 14. U.S. Attorney Dominick Gerace said, “What would have happened … never going to be clear, because, thank God, there was an intervention here and this thing was disrupted.”
